- Once contacted, True Restorations will be on the site of the emergency within 1 hour (most times sooner).
- We will ensure the source of the water has been stopped / slowed or neutralized
- We will make insurance notifications & start the claims process (if applicable)
- We will remove any standing water & expose all wet surfaces. All demolished finishing’s will be carted away.
- We will map out & note moisture readings of all affected surfaces as well as obtain a “dry standard” for your dwelling and collaborate with the insurance adjuster on an agreed scope of work.
- We will set up air movers, dehumidifiers & containment areas as per the industry standard IICRC guidelines
- We will measure, monitor and adjust the equipment during the dry down process. Daily readings will be taken to ensure progress.
- Once the dry down is within IICRC acceptable levels, we will apply a biocide spray (mold inhibitor) to all affected surfaces.
- We will share the dry down readings and results with your insurance company and invoice them directly for payment of all labor, materials & equipment usage during the mitigation phase.
- We will expedite a repair estimate for immediate approval so that we can bring you back to pre-loss condition with little to no delay.
- We will provide a fully detailed estimate of repairs (including all labor & materials) as well as a payment schedule for all necessary repairs and any optional upgrades
- Once approved, we will start work and provide you with a calendar of the repair so that you know when to expect our workers. We will only collect monies as repair landmarks are met (as per the contract)
- We will provide you with all job documents (contracts, payment invoices, selection sheets, etc.) all of which will be uploaded to the cloud and accessible via Citrix Sharefile 24/7 from any laptop, tablet or mobile device. Hard copies are available, if requested.
- We will share our estimate with your insurance adjuster & negotiate on your behalf so that your insurance payout is maximized and accurate.
- We will ask for a certificate of completion & satisfaction to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and we will share this with your insurance adjuster.
Water Loss Types:
- Category 1. This is liquid from a clean source (domestic water) but, category 1 can quickly degrade into category 2.
- Category 2. This category of liquid has a level of contaminates that may cause illness if ingested. Sources include dishwasher or washing machine overflows, flush from sink drains, and toilet overflow with some urine but not feces.
- Category 3. This is water that is grossly unsanitary. It could cause severe illness or death if ingested. Sources include: sewer backup, flooding from rivers or streams, toilet overflow with feces, and stagnant liquid that has begun to support bacterial growth.
Do’s & Don’t’s:
Things you should do if you experience a water leak
- Eliminate the water source (if possible)
- Turn off electric circuit breaker (if possible & safe to do so)
- Protect carpets & rugs from staining by putting foil or plastic beneath furniture legs
- Hang draperies and pin up furniture skirts
- Remove & store breakables & valuables
- Be cautious of slipping hazards
- Contact EMS if you have any health concerns
Things you SHOULDN’T do if you experience a water leak
- Don’t use a household vacuum to suck up water
- Don’t use newspapers on wet surfaces
- Don’t walk across wet surfaces more than necessary
- Don’t activate the HVAC system or adjust indoor temperature to increase drying
- Don’t enter an area with standing water
- Don’t consume any food or use any hygiene items from an affected area (especially if a Cat 2/3 area)
- Don’t use any home fans to dry any surfaces
